  • With 10+ years painting homes and businesses across Portland, we've built our reputation on showing up, doing great work, and treating every project like it's our own home. You work directly with Chris — not a rotating crew of strangers — and we're fully licensed with EPA lead certification. We are especially excited for restoration projects, so if you've got something unique in mind, let's talk.

  • We do a free walk-through first, then give you a straightforward quote — no fluff, no hidden fees. The price depends on the size of the job, what kind of prep the surfaces need, and the materials involved. Reach out at pistachiopaints.com and we'll get back to you within 48 hours to set something up.

  • Easy going! We'll chat about what you're going for, do a virtual project overview with a rough estimate. Moving forward we can come take a look at the space, and help you figure out the details — colors, products, timeline, and present a hard bid. We communicate throughout, we don't disappear mid-job, and we clean up after ourselves. Most of our clients tell us the biggest thing was just how easy and thorough the whole experience was.

  • A few things matter a lot here. Are they licensed and insured? Do they have real experience working around an active business? The key is the right paint for each specific project, a point we plan in detail before the project. And critically — do they actually prep the surfaces, or just paint over problems? We follow the paints manufacturer specs for application. We're happy to walk you through how we approach commercial jobs if you want a benchmark.

  • It's trickier than it looks! Start with what's already fixed — your roof, any brick or stonework, your neighbors' homes. Then think about how the color will look on a cloudy Portland day, because our overcast light can make warm tones look muddy. When in doubt, sample a few colors on the actual siding before committing. We help with color selection on every exterior project we do, and we offer standalone consults if you just need a second opinion before you decide.

  • We do! Painting is our foundation, but Pistachio Paints has grown into full custom project work — think built-ins, bathroom remodels, finish carpentry, and more. We genuinely enjoy the creative stuff and have a team that can bring bigger ideas to life. Check out our custom gallery on the site to get a sense of what we've done, and reach out if you've got something in mind.

  • The biggest one is the prep work & using the right primer or paint for the right project. — that's where most DIY paint jobs fall short. A professional patches, sands, and primes before anything gets painted, all the boring stuff, which is what makes the finish actually last. You also get cleaner lines, better product choices (the right sheen for the right room makes a real difference), and way less of your weekend gone. For older Portland homes, it's also worth knowing your painter is EPA lead certified, so you're not accidentally stirring up something hazardous.

  • Not much is needed from your end, honestly. Clear a path around the outside of your home so we can move ladders safely, trim back any shrubs growing close to the siding, and move furniture or planters out of the work zone. Close your windows on painting days to keep fumes outside. We handle all the real prep — power washing, scraping, caulking — so your main job is just giving us room to work.
